Services

ALL THINGS TURF provides a range of services helping you to make the most of your outdoor space. Whether you need regular maintenance, seasonal treatments or one-off tidy up jobs call for a quote.

Lawn Aeration

Lawn aeration is the process of removing small cores from the soil, these small holes are left open. The main purpose of lawn aeration is to provide the vital elements of air and water to enter the soil and reach the grass roots. This process helps the roots to grow deeply, which in turn produces a stronger and healthier lawn.

Lawn Mowing

Mowing is the key to a healthy lawn – each cut encourages the grass to grow more thickly, creating a luxuriant look. It also blocks out weeds and makes the grass more hard-wearing. Cutting the grass can take up quite a lot of time in the growing season, so it’s worth making sure that it is done properly.

It is recommended to reduce the lawn height by only one third each time you mow, any more would decrease the health and vigour of the grass.

Hedge Trimming/Pruning Work

Hedge Trimming/Pruning

Hedges, not unlike other plants also require their fair share of maintenance in order to look lush and healthy. They need formative pruning and general maintenance trimming to stay within bounds.

As hedges are often made out of different varieties of trees and shrubs, it’s only normal that their pruning times vary. Same as with trees, there’s also a “best time” to cut your hedges back as well. Call for a quote.

Strimming

Edging – borders gives your lawn a sharp clean cut finish.

Tapering – looks attractive around obstacles giving a more natural finish.

Scything – is required for long grass that cannot be mowed easily.

Screeding – is used to cut those annoying weeds in paving and patio slabs.

Lawn Installation Service

If you are unhappy with the way your lawn looks you may decide  you want a complete re-installation of turf. Once the ground has been prepared and levelled with top soil then laying the turf can proceed in sections until covered. It is recommended to keep the grass regularly watered on dry hot days and a programme of this will be discussed appropriate to your needs and the season.

Lawn Scarification

Lawn Scarification

To keep a lawn in tip-top condition you should remove all the accumulated debris that naturally gathers in the grass at least once or twice a year.

This process is called scarification. The machine used lifts out all the compacted matter (thatch) and allows air, light and rain to naturally do their job in supporting healthy grass growth from root to tip, thereby enabling you to enjoy a lush healthy green lawn. Without scarification your lawn is more susceptible to moss.

The combination of a thick thatch layer encourages moss to thrive and further impedes the ability of the grass to grow.

Lawn Treatment

Nutrient Programme – lawns require a balanced nutrient programme to ensure a green healthy sward.

Weed Control – treatments are dependent on your lawn and by using the minimum amount of chemical possible, regular maintenance with spot treatments support this however there are factors that require full weed treatments at different points in the year.

Moss Treatment  – Moss cannot be definitively eradicated, but it can be effectively controlled provided the correct products are used at the right time of year. Regular scarification, aeration and moss treatments are recommended.

Whatever your issue, a free lawn analysis will identify any nutrient needs, moss and weed problems so that a tailored programme of treatments can be offered at the right time to ensure high quality maintenance of your lawn.
